Dualcor cPC

111111.gif I had a chance to check out the DualCor cPC at lunch on Friday. Steven Hanley, CEO of DualCor Technologies, Inc, was presenting this unit to several onlookers.

What is it?
Its a dual OS, dual CPU, Hard Drive based mobile device. The concept is very interesting, but I have some reservations. It uses 2 CPUs a PocketPC based CPU, the PXA 263 clocked at 400mhz and a Via C7-M 1.5ghz processor. It runs Windows Mobile 5 and Windows XP Tablet PC edition, this is what is impressive. I fail to see the real world use for a dual OS on a portable device, but its neat either way.

Its heavy as a brick, but I guess there is no way around that with a 40g hard drive and a massive heat sink ( I think that’s what it is ). The screen is 5" 800×480 touch screen and is quite impressive. The cPC has 1g of ram and several USB ports as well as supporting Bluetooth, WiFi and 3G.

I can’t say where or if it is the same thing, but I think I saw this thing somewhere else a few months ago!
