DualCor cPC - Is it dead yet?

I first saw this thing as a prototype at the MVP Summit 2005. It was heavy, but I was somewhat impressed. In January I got see it again at CES 2006. I was less than impressed with the CEO’s presentation since he seemed to know very little about Windows Mobile. This device seemed to have some promise at that point though.

Fast Forward… UMPC strikes and it seems like the marketing approach by Dualcor changed overnight. When the lofty pricetag was announced, some more interest was lost. When it became apparent that it was not going to be marketed to the consumer sector, even more lost interest. Not really needing anymore turn offs, a few weeks ago we learned that there was ZERO connectivity options built in and whamo, we have ourselves a dying device that had promise.

I have to admit, DualCor is spending a good bit of money getting it’s cPC out there in the "Wild" as Engadget puts it. Engadget got some photos recently at Computex 2006. The cPC seems to show up at all the cool places to be lately!
