HTC Wants a Retail Presence

htc-logo.gif HTC has announced that it will aquire at least 51% of Dopod company in what could only be an effort to give some visablity to this otherwise behind the scenes company. HTC is a leading supplier of mobility to many Companys under private label. It is Said that HTC will drop no more than 150 million for it’s interest in Dopod.

This could cause some big problems for many companies like imate, Cingular, & Verizon to name a few who market the HTC products. They can rest at ease at least for now because who has ever heard of Dopod? Dopod is mainly an Asian Company with not much presence beyond there.

Let’s just hope HTC doesn’t get distracted, it sure would be great to see a VGA converged device!
