Now Showing On Your Local Laptop

The VHS-Beta showdown of the 21st Century, the battle of Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD is an ongoing marketing battle over which technology is better, and which will be the disc of choice by consumers. Both camps are making their pitch, and some are releasing some units in various shapes and sizes to see how well they are received. Sony has added the Blu-ray drives to their line of laptops, as you can see here.

Featured in the high-end AR series of laptops, the Blu-ray disc give portable users all of the benefits of the new technology, without giving up any functionality of previous devices. This series features a wide 17" screen and the latest video technology to take enhance the viewing of HD movies while you are on the road. I bet it can also play some of the hottest gaming titles, as well. Of course, no one uses their laptops for games, that just wouldn’t be productive.
