pdaMD.com Resource For Medical Users

I’ve worked in the medical imaging industry for almost 25 years. In that time I have seen technology make tremendous in-roads to how patients are diagnosed and treated. This technology has also had impact on how doctors interact with care givers and patients. Instead of pens and notebooks, they now carry PDAs and smart phones. The advent of WiFi and Bluetooth have given them greater access to medical records and patient information than they previously had. Given the increase in capabilities of these devices, websites such as pdaMD.com work to match physicians and caregivers with the programs that will allow them to make full use of the devices, whether they are in the hospital, in the office, or on the golf course.

One interesting service the site offers is the "Build to Order" option for purchasers of PDAs from their site. "Build to Order" is a convenient way to purchase a new Palm OS based PDA and have it arrive ready to use with the software that is needed already loaded. It also includes a back-up CD with the programs already on as well.
This site can provide excellent information for a wide variety of health care professionals, not only the physician. It is worth taking a look at if you or anyone you know is in the medical profession.
