Still Trying To Get Into The Act

Yesterday we looked at the new Sony NW Walkman portable MP3 player, and how the portable MP3 market is booming. Well, on the heels of that announcement, another company releases a portable player, one that has a lot of promise.

Called the iAudio 6, it is manufactured by Cowon and is a hard-drive based player similar to the iPod Minis. It has a bright vibrant 262,000 color  OLED display with touch sensitive controls. PC Magazine takes it through its paces and has an excellent review here. The only drawback they can see is that it is hard-drive based, which means it is thicker than its competition, and more susceptible to shock damage. But you can draw your own conclusions. The estimated street price is $249.
