Commodore Gravel In Pocket PMP

commodore_inpocket.jpg

This Pocket Multimedia Player (PMP) from Commodore, a company famous for computer innovation in the ’70’s, is trying to relive the dream today. The only problem is that they’re not innovating, they’re jumping on the bandwagon, and they’re late to the party. And they brought a device with a questionable name. What is "gravel"? Is that supposed to refer to the sound that comes out of their player?

But I digress…Let’s move on to the specs. This item comes with a 2.8" screen, WiFi, and plays DivX, Xvid, WMV, MP3 and Wav files. It comes in 1GB and 2GB versions with an SD slot for extra storage.

I looked for it’s physical size and pricing here and couldn’t find it. It’s due out now. This is getting to be a crowded market segment and the iPod clearly owns it. Somebody will have to do something radical to take market share away from Apple. Does this look radical?
