1st Impressions of the Samsung SH-i320

I kind of knew this phone was not going to do well on the Cingular Network since it’s a Tri-Band phone, but over the last couple days, I am trying it out anyway. It’s too nice of a phone not to.

Late Saturday, I set the phone up at home with my Cingular card and I got a decent signal. I messed around with settings and customized it to my liking. Over the next day I made a couple calls and all seemed to be ok. When I arrived to work this morning, I went from 4 bars 1-2 bars. I could only get Cingular to show over no service if I was near a window. This is definitely an issue with the 4th band missing from this phone.

Samsung has done a great job with this phone as far as features and added enhancements. I will cover some of them with screen shots in a future posting.

Other than the Tri-Band thing, the only other complaint thus far is the battery life. BAD BAD BAD. I have barely used the phone today and I am already at 75%.

I will probably throw a T-Mobile Sim at this phone later this week. For now, I am going to just test the phone out as a PDA with limited phone coverage.
