Confirmation - Blackjack + Voice Command 1.6 + Bluetooth = Nope

I haven’t used Voice Command in a year or two. Recently a user named JNGold asked if the Blackjack had a problem with Voice Command. I didn’t know the answer, but said I would find out. I don’t like the answer though. I am not one to “just believe”. I have to see it myself.

Today I confirmed that the Bluetooth / Voice Command 1.6 Marriage is not going to happen. Here’s what Microsoft’s Voice Command Webpage has to say about it…

Samsung BlackJack from Cingular
Voice Command 1.6 bluetooth functionality does not work properly on the Samsung Blackjack. It is not possible to initiate a voice command interaction using the headset, and it is not possible to receive audio announcements through the headset on this device.”

There are also some issues with other phones, so check out the link below to make sure your device isn’t listed.

I am very impressed with Voice Command 1.6 for Smartphone w/o using Bluetooth though. The software does a far better job understanding my southern dililect than previous versions. The Bluetooth problem with the Blackjack is dissappointing, but not a deal breaker since I only use my headset 25-30% of the time.
