Mustek, a leader in consumer electronics for the digital lifestyle, is making digital video more accessible, affordable and exciting with the introduction of its new DV520T mini camcorder.
"The surge in popularity of youtube.com and the increasing use of viewer-supplied video by traditional media outlets has created demand for affordable, portable camcorders that can go anywhere to capture any event," said David Ficken, National Sales Manager, Mustek. Compact enough to fit inside a pocket, student book bag, or purse, the DV520T opens up a world of multimedia entertainment options for users at all levels. A testament to Mustek’s vision of digital convergence, it records VGA-quality MPEG4 video at 30 frames-per-second with sound, plus snaps 5.2 megapixel digital photos (3264 x 2448), records WAV voice files, and even plays MP3 music.
Video and photos are stored on an internal 64MB hard drive, or on memory cards up to 2GB, translating into hours of video and thousands of photos. Downloading to a PC is achieved via USB 2.0 or simply by transferring the memory card to a reader. In addition, the DV520T can be connecting to a TV with the included AV cable to view in large screen format.
Other standout features of the DV520T include its 8X digital zoom, 2.0-inch swivel LCD and IGBO flash.
PRICING & AVAILABILITY
The Mustek DV520T will ship in early June with an MSRP of $129. Included with the package are rechargeable batteries, AV cable, universal power adapter, cradle, stereo headphones, pouch, strap and editing software (Video Magic and Ulead Photo Express). An included PC camera driver allows the DV520T to operate as a webcam.
