Can Anyone Recommend a Microsoft Exchange Server Host?

I have been using 4smartphone.net for a while now and today I decided I need to leave them. I am asking for your suggestions. What do I need in a solution?

  • Decent Storage
  • Exchange Server 2007 is not required, but plans to upgrade to it would be
  • Price is not really a big concern, I am willing to pay a fair price
  • Ability to forward serveral accounts to the same provide “forward to address”

I am not saying that 4smartphone.net is a bad company, but I need to be able to speak to a real person once in a while. I am in the process of migrating my address and my staff members addresses from @aximsite.com to @mobilitysite.com and need to speak to someone to get suggestions on the best way to do this with their new 2007 servers. I sent in an email this morning asking for a call. Long story short, I finally got an email that didn’t address my issue after 5-6 hours. With most of a Friday gone, I just decided it was time to move on and now I am in the market for another company.

Maybe I was being a little petty, but I almost left them a couple weeks ago because a) I was lied to and b) they wanted to charge me to upgrade to the 2007 servers (not by my choice) when I still have credit left on my 1 year of prepaid service.  4smartphone is now upgrading to Exchange Server 2007 now and in order to migrate, I was forced to make a choice of a new plan and pay up front for the 1st month when I still have some time left on my 1 year prepay. Why is that? It’s not much money, it’s principle. In addition, I was lied to and told that I was upgraded to 2007 back in March already.

5) In addition, we are taking the following steps concerning the current Exchange 2003 servers: 4SmartPhone is rolling out more reliable Exchange 2007 on a brand new architecture; The fact that Exchange 2007 is more robust and combined with the new architecture, any failure are less likely, simpler and faster to recover from should we have to.

This was bullet item 5 in an email from their support team to us that lost service for more than a week. In fact, the week was during CTIA in 2007 and I was unable to access my calendar with all my meetings down there in Orlando. Maybe I misread this email, but it looks to me like we were put on an Exchange Server 2007 server at that time. I wouldn’t have noticed anyhow since I wasn’t using a Windows Mobile 6 Device until now.

I was pleased with 4smartphone for 99% of the time, but I am moving on. Please share your recommendations with me.

  1. I have 3 months left on my 4smartphone contract which ends December but 2 weeks ago I signed up with the hosted exchange service from http://www.sherweb.com - they give you 30 days in which you can cancel and receive a full refund.

I get 3gb storage per mail box, exchange 2007 and a 100mb sharepoint site to collaborate with and all for $8.95 per mail box per month.

So far the service has been fantastic and will not be cancelling to go back to 4smartphone.

  2. Intermedia.net - they work great.

  3. I second Sherweb. Their service is fantstic. what you get for the $9/mo is great and you can always call them for support. Their support is the best I’ve seen.

    Good luck.

  4. Intermedia.net is pretty good, and groupspark.com is also available. If you’re looking for dedicated solution with your own server setup, then Fastservers.net has some pretty good deals. Or I could host everything for you for free if you’re interested.

  5. We just switched our small company from 1&1 to AppRiver. The customer service is far superior. I have been able to get a person to help me out every time with the few problems that we’ve come across.

    -Unlimited storage
-easy online management of folders, calendars, etc.
    -Outlook Mobile

  6. I switched to http://www.sherweb.com a couple of months ago and just like Tim and Bacco the whole experience has been great!

Good price, good service and good support!

    I strongly recommend!

    Have a good day

  7. we’re using intermedia and their service has been great. i would definitely recommend them for hosted Exchange as we ll as Blackberry hosting.

  8. We’re using Intermedia as well and we’ve been happy from the beginning. I would steer clear of mailstreet.
