Is Apple Planning a Tablet?

apple-tablet The rumors are rampant about a long-talked-about Apple Tablet PC.  Apparantly Asus says it’s “helping Apple build” the new device.

The company already filed a patent back 2005 for a MacBook like tablet.  Crave is confident in the rumor, saying, “it’s being built as you read this.”

However, tablets have had limited acceptance in the marketplace, so why does Apple think they can successfully reinvent the wheel?  Perhaps they are planning a convertible table, with a swiveling keyboard?  That would be more user friendly.

Apple is hot right now.  Perhaps they are riding the wave while they can.  They certainly have everyone’s attention, so their timing is excellent.  Stay tuned.
