There is a new reason for users to love their BlackBerry smartphones*. Electric Pocket today announced availability of the new FlipSide music player for BlackBerry smartphones. FlipSide delivers a uniquely designed music player for BlackBerry smartphones that allows users to visually shuffle through their music quickly and easily.
The beta version of FlipSide certainly struck a chord, with over 5,000 downloads in a single weekend. Initial responses by those who have tried FlipSide include such accolades as “I love it,” “it’s awesome,” and “it rocks!”.
Early users were especially impressed with the attractive user interface that makes FlipSide both visually enjoyable and very easy to use. One of the most popular features is the ability to “swoosh” through the full-color cover art of an entire music collection within seconds using the BlackBerry smartphone trackball. FlipSide downloads and displays each album’s cover art and even links to FlipSide Extras to provide biographies of the artists, recommendations for similar artists and more.
“With the introduction of innovative and consumer-friendly products such
as the BlackBerry Pearl and the BlackBerry Curve, we are seeing a much broader mix of people choosing BlackBerry smartphones for both work and leisure,” said Jeff McDowell, Vice President, Global Alliances, Research In Motion. “This trend, in turn, has attracted a new category of developer partners, like Electric Pocket, who are creating consumer and lifestyle applications that deliver new experiences for customers on the BlackBerry platform.”
Flipside plays music in MP3, WMA, M4A and AAC formats, and allows users to create their own playlist, bringing their favorite tunes quickly to hand.
FlipSide retails for $19.95 and a free trial download is available now from the FlipSide website at http://flipside.fm
* FlipSide is compatible with all 8100 series, 8300 series and 8800 series BlackBerry models.
