Contest : Win a Slingbox Solo from Mobilitysite
Posted by Chris Leckness on 08/24/08 in Mobilitysite Contests
In the spirit of Ryan Block’s contests to move his swag that has accumulated over the years over at Engadget, I decided to thin out my collection too. I cleaned my office up pretty good yesterday. I have a few items I will be dishes out over the next couple weeks as time permits. I have some cases to give away at Gotzune and the 1st item here at Mobilitysite is this Slingbox Solo.
The Slingbox SOLO allows you to watch and control your favorite TV source—including your HD content—from anywhere in the world on your laptop or cell phone. So now you can watch your DVR, digital cable, satellite receiver, or DVD player wherever you see fit. With the Slingbox SOLO, you can watch your favorite TV shows and sporting events from anywhere.
Read on for details…
Just leave a comment in this thread telling me what you like most about Aximsite and/or Mobilitysite now or what you liked in the past. Be honest, don’t try to "win" my pick since I will choose the winner randomly. No doubt I will read them all, but when selection time comes, I will do the random thing.
Deadline: September 1, 2008
Anyone can enter, but make sure your email address is valid, this will be the only way to verify you.

I think of all the things I miss - I miss the old community of Aximsite. Admittedly the site and community are still there, but since I moved on from my Axim I strayed a ways away from the site. Need to try and remedy that… but that’s nothing you can fix :)
I only discovered this site recently, through one of the other sites. I love them both. Without it, wouldn’t have found a way to get SkyFire, wouldn’t know there was a WM upgrade coming, etc. I update my RSSHub (another bit I think I found through here) just in the hopes of catching the latest post. Not kissing the master’s butt. Just being thankful.
The community really is great they helped in getting, customizing and even selling my axim which was great!
I like the fact that I get cool tech news and that people help me (and others) with my tech issues, questions, and accessories.
what i liked was the reviews on the axim thats why i got mine to begine with. Now i read alot more about what going on right now.
I also miss the old community of aximsite things just are not the same anymore, and no other ppc community out there is as close knit and respectful of each other.
I like the gadget reviews. Plus the constant contests don’t hurt either. ;-)
Subject of the content, of course! Mobility and the tools can now bring along blow my mind. Sites like this, that occasionally bring a glimpse to the future through news of the latest breakthroughs, are a fun read.
Being a gadget enthusiast, I love the variet of gadget related news, reviews that the site offers including the videos. I do however find that the forums are quite big and may be a bit daunting to new members to go through. I know it’s hard to merge Aximsite and Mobilitysite but perhaps condensing the forums may make it easier to navigate through. I hope you won’t take it in the wrong way, Chris. :)
The site is great, I have been able to expand the capabilities of my phone to an area I never thought possible
Just like Chris, I’ve moved from iPaq to Axim and now to Mobility as my knowledge and devices have changed. I got so much good information from Aximsite it was my first place to look for answers. Now that I’ve learned a litte more, I am happy that I can provide some answers instead of just questions. I like the variety of coverage here. While I don’t plan on getting a blackberry, I do get asked about them and now I have some answers…. So I guess I’m still asking questions! ;-)
My favorite things about AximSite and MobilitySite have to do with the community.
It is great being able to find answers to questions I have about my Axim, but when I can’t find the answer I know I can post the question and get good reliable answers without anyone flaming me for asking such a stupid question.
I like the shared content between MobilitySite and TiltSite. Hearing apps and reviews for my phone and other Smartphones is great. Keep it up.
I’ve been a long Mobility/Aximsite reader. What’s great about your site Chris is that there’s people here that are extremely smart; and who can help out pretty much any problem we have. I daily check the Mobilitysite front page for the latest news; and just techy stuff in general. It’s a site I visit daily now, and it’s just a well written website. There’s no doubt about it. Ever since the merge, you’ve been adding on things that make the site even better!

Since I got my tilt I have found you through tiltsite.com
I enjoy the reviews best, as they give me insight into what I “need” next.
My wife dislikes the reviews, as they make me want to buy more gadgets.

It’s about mobile, it’s about phones.. what’s not to like! Pick me please, I want one of these badly..
I wish I could say more, but I just subscribed a week ago! I have had my Tilt for two months now, and found the list while looking for info about the coming WM6.1 upgrade.
Now — sling me!
i have been to tiltsite for a few months since first got my tilt and have been a regular eversince, visiting a several times a day… and i think i will be like a regular as long as own my tilt! and even if i change to another phone, i am sure, i will find an aximsite that spcicializes in it. keep up the good work and pick me!!!
i use tiltsite alot pretty i check it out 4 to 5 times a week to look for new things to learn on my tilt, its always updated with the newest and latest things happening with it. great work!
If it wasn’t for the Mobilitysite, I think I would have gone crazy a long time ago.
This site provides crazy updates for my every need. Mobilitysite has become like a drug to me… I need a fix almost every day.
Rock on! and keep doing what you are doing.
I miss Aximsite, and I have to say, my Axim. There was something special about both; then we all had to move on (damn you Dell). Mobility site has done a good job of keeping us all connected, but now that there are so many similar devices, it’s going to be hard for it ever to be the same. Tiltsite does a great job of coming the closest to what Aximsite was—a device specific site (and a great one). But after a while if you spread yourself too thin trying to be all things to all people, you can’t help but end up with a dizzying table of contents like Howard forum. I repeat again that Mobility site and the community it is, is the result of the vision and input of Chris. He seems to steer a good course, and yet allow for change. Somehow he finds the right people to mentor our changing devices, and yet keep the flavor of community. Just like, if I were to win a Slingbox, which I know nothing about, I know I could learn how to use it here at Mobility. That’s something you can’t buy.
I think by the time I joined the site I had already moved on from my Axim X51 so I never really got into Aximsite. That being said, what I love the most about the site is the Videos. Mobitysite does great walkthrough videos that ALWAYS show not just the hardware of the devices, but also the OS/menus/programs which for some reason not that many sites do. I also really like the comment system of the site, though I wish more people would use it as I never really got into forums.
Really, I like the honest reviews and insights. I don’t have the time or the money to fiddle with every piece of software and hardware that comes around. I have Mobilitysite on my iGoogle page, so I can see the new reviews each day. It’s good stuff!
I like the reviews and the forums.
well, mobilitysite is one of the few sites i hit bi-daily! great news. good info, and alot of the stuff on my tilt was shown here.. thus why it’s on my tilt!
Well, I like the old Aximsite and the new Mobilitysite except for the fact that I have to click through to another site like I did here to enter this contest. I liked it better when it was just a forum with everything in one place (guess I’m kind of old school). I’ve always liked forums better for posting messages.
Keep up the great work Chris!
My favorite thing has been the useful information in the forums from other enthusiasts and hackers. It has allowed me to make my Axim x51v one of the biggest bargains of any gadget I have ever purchased. Any time I am close to retiring the device, I find a killer use for it, and it lives another day! Many of these have been found with the help of Aximsite!
Hi,
I like very much the news and the fact that sometimes I can know before others about software updates for WM devices.
Regards.
I like to keep up with the latest mobility news. Its like engadget mobile except way better.
I especially like how mobilitysite keeps so up-to-date. The articles keep coming throughout the day, keeping my “need to know” fix in check. Keep up the good work.
I like rss feed of the site to keep up to date.
I love the up-to-date notices on new releases and the reviews/opinions.
This is definitely one of my daily hits.
Love it - Thank You…
I like the device reviews and unboxing videos that you post on mobilitysite. I like that I can use RSS to keep up on all the news that you post on your site.
I really like in the past that this was “THE” site to come to for my Dell Axim…now I check it everyday for Windows Mobile news!
I have been following aximsite and now Mobilitysite for quite a while. I like the variety of content on the site. Though the origins were WinMo, you are not afraid to try an iPhone and give us your impressions. This is refreshing as many blogs have too much of a bias.
It is also reassuring to know I am not the only techie with a thick Southern Accent!
I am still new to windows mobile, and bot of these sites have helped me to discover new software as well as ways to customize my ATT Tilt.
Mobility Site is certainly one of the indispensable support/info sites for Windows Mobile owners/tweakers. I love the reviews and forums. There’s just a great knowledge base all around.
Great site and I would love a SlingBox
I haven’t had a chance to be on either the aximsite or mobility site, but after recently “upgrading” my Dell Axim, I’m sure to be visiting the site to see what else I can do to get the most out of this little piece of hardware!
Like the fact you are giving away a Slingbox! They Rock.
I’m a new user here, so i dont know what the old site was like. But I do love it now, its a great source of information!
I love the heads up on great new software.
Mobility Site is a very good source for mobility information.
I love sling media especially if it comes out on the iphone!!!!!!! me win please!!! lol
I like the way the 2 sites keep up with technology.
I have “rediscovered” Aximsite. I had all but stopped using my Axim until I was looking at various methods of setting up a CarPC. When I wondered how I might work my old Axim into the equation I turned to the only place I would ever think to turn: Aximsite.
There are still plenty of folks around willing to help out and the wealth of info there is staggering. It’s still awesome. It would be a tremendous undertaking, but someone should go through and organize a ton of faqs from the posts (not volunteering, just saying…).
The best thing about the site is the open sharing of information. I have learned quite a bit on getting the most out of my Axim.
For me one of the things I like about Aximsite and Mobilitysite is the information provided, particularly for wm treos, so hard to find info about it on other sites. Therefore, coming at least I can find some type of article giving me information in relation to Windows Mobile.
I’ve found lots of good stuff for my Tilt!
Thanks.
Aximsite was one of the first places I started learning more about tweaking my Dell Axim. MobilitySite has carried on that ability with plenty of good tidbits and info about other mobiles. Keep up teh great work!

Peace. ~G
I have had my tilt for about 4 months and love it. I get all my up to date blog from mobilitysite and tilitsite. You guys rock and keep it up
Great site! Unbelievable how you keep up with the most current news.
I have had my tilt since early february and had no clue how to use it. If it weren’t for all of the information on this site, I still wouldn’t know half the stuff I know now. Keep up the good work!
What can I say that hasn’t been said already? This site is a great source of information. It has one of the most awesome member base that I have ever been a part of. Oh yeah the owner is a pretty cool guy as well. All in all, I couldn’t go without getting my daily tech fix without visiting this site. Thanks for the awesome work that you do. Thank you for the opportunity to win and good luck to the rest of the contestants.
When I got my Axim, this was the first PPC site I found and I have used it as a spring board to all the products, and websites with info and ideas for how to use it. I even found a place to get it repaired when I dropped it and broke the screen (bought a hard case then too to make sure it didn’t happen again).
Even though I miss AximSite, I enjoy all the blogs and info I get from MobilitySite.
I love watching your videos on mobility site/youtube. They are very informative even though I’m not looking to buy anything, I’m just crazy about electronics and phones. I’ve also subscribed to the RSS Feed and that is GREAT.
I’ve enjoyed my 3 years on the AximSite getting a lot advices from competent members like Gigi, Ikehiker and many more.
I’ll stick to my Ax but some day it will be replaced and I’m sure to get the best advises here.
In the meantime I’m enjoying the Water Fountain but I wonder why it hasn’t been transferred to the MobilitySite to get a wider audience as a general forum ?
And who supports the AximSite now that Frenchy no longer seems to be in charge ?
Thanks for your efforts, Chris :)
I liked the community… you could ask a question and get a helpful reply, and get a buzz from helping someone else sort out a problem.
What I like most is the stream of information, this is the website with the most posts a day probably. High quality and quantity
have been you since the Dell Axim, now the Tilt, there are so many informations on this site and aximsite, it is just too valuable.
I like the variety of news items and reviews that you do. Not only phones, but other devices, carrying cases, earphones, etc. The breadth of your coverage makes me come back time after time.
I miss when there were new updates for the X51v and we were all discussing and learning them. The discussions now seem somewhat random, although I still come back often to keep up. I still like Mobilitysite to keep up with all the latest mobile news.
I love Mobility Site because i always love learning about new releases for my tilt. it truly tickles my inwards.
I think I like the contests best.
I like the reviews of new products. I have definitely bought products based on the review on this site and am happy to say that I have not been disappointed yet.
i noob in this community but so far have been really happy with the information i have been able to find, between xda forums and mobilitysite i have been able to find everything i need.
I love the way Aximsite helped me to get the most out of my new Axim. If I had a problem or wanted to figure out how to do something (for example: GPS), I could always find the answer in the forum.
Aximsite was my favorite website for a long time after I got my Axim X5 and again after purchasing a X51v. Most of the knowledge I obtained regarding my PPCs were from the excellent and friendly community at Aximsite. Plus, I love all the contests!
I discovered MobilitySite from TiltSite, using TiltSite I was able to customize my phone extensively, but after recently navigating through the MobilitySite I’ve become fond of all of the reviews that are offered. Keep up the good work!
New to Windows Mobile (recent Palm convert…), just discovered the site. So far I like most being filled in about things I would otherwise be missing (new apps, etc).
I like the news about mobile products. What I miss is the iPaq site. I know that we’re all mobile, but it’s almost too much! Still, this is one of my daily web site visits.
Mobilitysite always keeps me up to date on new applications and keeps my ahead of the curve on new offerings.
Reviews, Unboxing…..Gadget Porn!
I’ll always have a soft spot for Aximsite. I learned more here/there than anyplace else. I was a new PPC user in 12/02 when I took the plunge and bought my X5 Advanced. And, I’ve been hooked since.
I like this site because its like Walmart for mobile phones. You can find everthing from software to techi information. With information overload online, its nice to find one place where you can address all your mobile needs. It is super user-friendly and nicely organized.
I think the style of writing keeps me coming back. Much better than some of the hype, negativity, or sarcasm that some sites seem to have a lot of.
The thing I like most about this website is that I can know more about my phone. It gives my phone much more potential as it is one great place to find new additions for my phone as well as other great handsets.
I got hooked on Aximsite with my new Axim because it made me feel connected to other users. I was so excited about my new toy… er, productivity tool… that I wanted to know how to make the most of it and to simply share the enthusiasm with other owners.
I just found out about tiltsite.com the other day after google searching some information on web browsers and the Iris post came up. Once I got here, this has become my new place to subscribe to the RSS feed about MY phone! I’m so excited there is an actual online community for specifically my OS and system with only related posts! Thank you!
Through this site I have found a lot of useful programs for my phone I also learned many different ways to use my phone. I receive a lot of complements for my tilt and I owe a lot of thanks to this site.
I was searching one day and found Aximsite and then Mobilitysite. I really have enjoyed both. I found it a plethera of information and has really kept me up to date without searching the internet and all sorts of sites. You have done an excellent job. Thanks for your hard work.
Since I’m a nerd, basically just having a website like this is amazing, I don’t think I would survive without a website that is dedicated to what I love.
I like the tiltsite.com portion of this site… also, I’d like a Slingbox. THX
Before I bought my tilt, I didn’t know much about the ’tilt’ world. I received my tilt and told my wife that I hated the way things were configured, and that I was going to take exchange it. THEN I found tiltsite.com!!! Tiltsite and mobilitysite.com have brought me light years ahead in productivity using my Tilt!!!
I’ve been a regular reader since I first got my Axim X50, but only recently discovered the joys of the RSS feed, which I now peruse regularly, using GMail Reader. This makes it easy to catch up on all the news, without worrying about what I’ve missed.
Is there still any new software for older platforms like the X50.
The upgrade bug is starting to bite because of all the new features I’m reading about, but the X50 still does 90% of what I need, and the Nokia N95 does the rest.
Thanks, great site.
I love reading Tiltsite ever since I bought my Tilt. So far they have not steered me wrong with advice and links.
I’ve been a regular on this site for almost four years. It has helped me get the best use of my x50 and I’ve learned about all the software available. The best part is how the site has progressed with the new technology. Eventually I’ll move to something newer and will be well informed about what to buy. :)
Hello. I too have just recently found this site. I mean I found it a while back but only here recently started picking its brain. I have found the software reviews very useful as well as the tutorials on how to unlock and install new roms and all kinds of cool stuff. I have many of the software ecomendations installed on my Tilt now as a result.
Keep up the good work.
Nate
Since I am truly a noob, when it comes to mobility hardware/software, What I like best about aximsite/mobilitysite is everything I need answered is it one place. Also the site is always great for new products/reviews as well.
Keep up the great work.
Basically I needed a phone that would give me access to my email acounts while away from pc. I baught the tilt, and was absolutely mind boggled trying to figure the phone out. Well after about a week I founf tiltsite and after countless hours of reading I got my tilt working with free apps and goodies that makes it priceless in my eyes. Thanks to all bloggers and posters on the site and forum.
Keeping up with everything I need to maintain phone ‘dominance’ is difficult. I look here, as well as a few other places to update my phone. Keep it current and leading edge.
I like the gadget reviews….and I like free give-aways!
I like the wide range of topics [regarding WM] that this site covers. The insight into this many devices is unparalleled.
My favorite parts of Mobility Site are your loyalties to Windows Mobile and of course the amazing giveaways.
