Seems like there may have been more to the Zune update than indicated. Long Zheng over at istartedsomething found drivers that indicate some kind of phone hardware. Maybe a “Zune phone” which has been denied repeatedly, or what I hope is Zune integration for Windows Mobile. What I would like to see is it starting with 6.5.3 or whatever they will...

Since the release of Windows Mobile 6.5 and the subsequent release of the new Windows phones, I have had the privilege of reviewing two offerings by AT&T. The HTC Pure (Touch Diamond 2) and the Tilt2 (Touch Pro2), both of which I found to be good in their own rights with the Tilt2 being the better of the two in my opinion because of the hardware...

I really don’t want to waste a lot of time in a review of the new Verizon Motorola Droid comparing it to the iPhone. Let’s get that topic out of the way by listing a few of Droid’s killer features that should catch your attention and put iPhone on the alert:
Droid has a bigger screen than iPhone
Droid...

After a week with the Samsung Omnia II, what follows is a detailed rundown of every function, issues, and realizations I ran into on a daily basis. While there are finger-friendly improvements in Windows Mobile, and exciting additions to everyday applications like Swype, there were times I felt there was a disconnect between Samsung and Microsoft regarding...

Ok so I was surfing though my usual websites this morning and noticed on at&t’s site the the price on the Tilt 2 had dropped by $100. It is now 199 after rebate. What makes me think this might be a permanent price drop on the Tilt 2 is the no commitment price is lowered as well.

Is it real? Probably. HTC hasn’t been able to keep the lid on any of their phones for quite some time. About this time each year, it seems we get a roadmap for HTC, AT&T, and Verizon. Here is last year’s HTC 2009 Roadmap, did we see any real surprises?
Well, no real surprise here with 2010 around the corner, BGR has shared a roadmap discovered...

A little over a year ago Chris posted a piece about the Swype software, and yet here is Swype again attempting to change consumers’ perspectives on typing using software keyboards. Since my introduction to software keyboards came in the form of the near-microscopic keys in Windows Mobile 6.0, I was slow to adopt the prediction-correction-ridden virtual-boards....

Yes, you read that right. Wal Mart is selling the Tilt 2 for 1 cent. Take that offer, get a $100 rebate from HTC and you have a hot phone and you make $99.99. Sounds like the best deal ever if you ask me.
Now this isn’t exactly getting $99.99 absolutely free, that part comes from the HTC trade in program I posted about the other day. I mean, if...

Having finished my time with the HTC Pure I have now turned my attention to the second device from at&t to sport Windows Mobile 6.5, the HTC Tilt2. After two weeks I must say I have enjoyed this device. Although it is not perfect, it is, in my opinion the perfect replacement for my aging Tilt. I didn’t feel this way about the Fuze because the...

Here is a non-smartphone that I have had the opportunity to check out recently. This one of the expensive though. It retails around $500-600. I am not entirely sure if that is worth it these days, but it is an unlocked phone. If you went out and bought an HTC Tilt 2 off contract, you’d pay around the same. I posted about this one a couple weeks ago...

I admit it, as soon as they were available I raced to the Zune Marketplace and downloaded three of the new Zune HD games, very eager to see what Microsoft had chosen as the first proper showcase of the Zune HD’s Tegra powered game chops. So much time has been spent discussing the lack of Zune HD apps, I was thrilled to finally see if they would...

Hey Guys, check out this short video from the guys over at Engadget! They show a couple of the new games for the ZuneHD like PGR: Ferrari Edition and Audiosurf Tilt.
I have also checked out the piano application, and it’s exactly what you’d think. A piano keyboard for the ZuneHD. It supports multi-touch chords, but only over one octave....

Well I had to send the Pure back and I must say, other than not having a hardware keyboard it was one of the best Smartphones I have used. However to help get over it I now have in my possession the Tilt2 and I must say it is a wonderful piece of hardware. I will be doing a full review later, but I wanted to post some first impressions of the device....
