This is all phones too, not just WinMo or the iPhone.Sascha Segan from PC Mag has published a pretty extensive list of free apps that have been hand chosen by some of the PC Mag staff. It’s pretty good list for iPhone and Windows Mobile in my opinion, but I can’t personally vouch for the other lists.
You are probably wondering what’s up with...

I recently fixed my BlackBerry Bold and am now gonna start posting BlackBerry stuff again. And I’m going to start off with a tutorial on how to activate the Internet Browser as the default instead of MEdia Net and WAP.
This tutorial is aimed at those with an AT&T BlackBerry who have upgraded to a leaked OS 5.0 and find they are stuck with...

Don’t get me wrong, Gizmodo puts out some good opinions, reviews, scoops, and all but they’re not really known for putting out “guides”. I am glad they are out of the stage of publicizing any sex related gadget that they could find though and doing stuff like the post I am going to mention here. Anyhow, today I found a really interesting...

Reviewing this phone has been a pleasure. I passed on reviewing the HTC Hero on Sprint because of the absence of a physical keyboard. That and the fact that Marilyn was looking forward to reviewing it too. The Hero was a great phone, but I had my eyes set on this Sprint Android powered phone. The nice looking keyboard lured me in, I admit it.
The...

I was just reading a great read from James over at JKontheRun on the subject and thought it would be a good time for me to weigh in with my views on the debate. Gil also posted a revamp to his Mobile OS battle recently here and since I have been mixing it up with what I am using, I feel it’s time for me to speak up too.
I have been a avid, almost...

The Blackberry Bold 9700 went on sale this weekend on the AT&T website. $199.99 after rebates with a 2 year contract will get you out the door on this one. The 9700 has already made it’s rounds on other carriers, but now it’s AT&T’s turn. I am seriously considering making this a Christmas gift for my wife, but I already bought her the...

This is a great opportunity to call your friends and relatives on Thanksgiving if you do’nt have nationwide dialing. Truphone just announced that for 12 hours on Thanksgiving 2009 all calls made on Truphone to mobile and landline phones in the United States will be free so that friends and family can call each other to catch up this holiday...

This is a great time to be a fan of mobile technology. We are able to do more with small, mobile devices then ever before. In fact, there are times when it seems like we barely even need notebook PCs anymore, let alone desktops. Want to surf the internet and catch up on your favorite blogs? The iPhone’s internet experience rivals most notebooks,...

One of our contributors over at Mobilitysite has round 2 of this OS fight online. He did a similar article about a year ago. Since then, Windows Mobile has stayed still for the most part and Android has progressed quite a bit. This time around, using Gil’s own personal experience, the iPhone OS barely holds off Android… for now. I personally...

Few months ago I wrote a provocative post comparing between different smartphones OS.
After getting hammered (pretty nicely I would say) by a lot of Google fans out there (but not only), furious about their little baby not winning the kindergarten contest, and after almost a year has passed, in which many have changed, I’ve decided to try again…...
That is super impressive. That’s a big percentage for a 1 device army to achieve.
If you have ever been a WinMo fan like me, you’d know that HTC has had some SUPER HOT devices over the last 2-3 years. HTC is pumping out 6-7 different high end models with multiple versions going to all the different carriers. There are MANY more HTC devices being...

I am always on the look out for some quality earbuds. I hate to admit it, but I am very hard on them and often destroy them working in the yard. The only set of earbuds I haven’t killed is my Ultimate Ears Superfi 5pro earbuds. I only use them on trips now. I don’t mean to destroy them, but when you get out there jamming while cutting the grass...

Our esteemed editor in chief, Chris Leckness, just posted an excellent response to the spreading assumption that the Motorola Droid will someone be the nail in the coffin of Windows Mobile. Like him, I find that concept to be simplistic and silly and born out of marketing speak, not reality. You see, the mobile telephony market has simply become obsessed...
A few days ago I commented about the Celio Redfly adding support for BlackBerrys. I came across that bit of information first while researching to purchase a Celio RedFly myself and then while I’ve been using it with my Windows phone. It certainly extends the usefulness of my HTC Touch HD, and it should do the same for you if you have a Blackberry....

Just as they promised a few months back, Celio Corp has released software that allows their RedFly to be used with Blackberry in addition to a few more Windows Mobile devices.
The RedFly is a device that extends smartphone functionality. It allows the use of smartphones with a larger resolution/larger sized screen and a larger physical keyboard. This...

This weekend, I recorded a short 8 second video clip on my iPhone 3GS. Sure, 3 years ago we had cell phones that had video capabilities back then unless you were an early adopter and picked up a 1st gen iPhone and kept it stock but that’s a different story. Back then I was using either an LG CU500, Cingular 3125, or a Cingular 8125. While drafting...
