Review: Logitech Cordless MediaBoard Pro

Vendor: Logitech (Link to product page) Part Number PN 968011-0403
MSRP: $79.99 (Available from online retailers as low as $45, at the time of review $60 at Amazon)
When I received the unit from Logitech, I expected something simple, light, low-quality plastic and somewhat hallow unit. It was nothing but high quality, glossy, matching black, perfectly balanced and just the right weight keyboard. Nicely priced at the time of review at $60, even better when it was on sale last month at Amazon for $45, this keyboard is the second in the line of Logitech MediaBoard PS3 series, the original Logitech PS3 MediaBoard came with USB Adapter with RF transmitter, and was based on 2.4Ghz wireless technology. It worked perfectly well with Linux, but did not have dedicated buttons, and was priced just $10 less than this one. This unit is Bluetooth, does not require any adapters or transmitters, and works right out of the box with your PS3 or your PC without any drivers, installations, or long setup process…
Is Microsoft Looking at Logitech?
Posted by Chris Leckness on 01/10/08 in Logitech, Microsoft
Luigi dropped me a line pointing to an article at PC Pro where they talk about a Microsoft targeting Logitech for a takeover. I will say right up front that this is just a rumor and far from confirmed. Just letting everyone know since it would mean a big impact for laptop accessories.
Speculation is circulating that Microsoft is planning a takeover bid for peripheral maker Logitech.
The software giant is reportedly considering a bid worth just over $9 billion for Logitech, which is currently valued at around $6.3 billion.
This would mean that Microsoft would become the hands down leader of computer accessories. Is this a good thing. As much as I love Microsoft’s products, I don’t really think this would be. Logitech makes some impressive products and lots of them. Would Microsoft hinder the progress at Logitech? Doesn’t competition breed excellence? If Logitech is under the Microsoft Umbrella, who does that leave? Just Belkin?
Even if I don’t think it would be overall great, It would be huge for Microsoft and Logitech investors. In fact, this rumor alone pushed Logitech stock up 12% already.
Buying Logitech would make Microsoft the world’s largest maker of computer mice and give it a significant presence in the speaker and gaming hardware markets, potentially tying in with its Zune music players and Xbox games console.
Review: Logitech VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse
Posted by warthog on 11/26/07 in Laptop Accessories, Logitech, Mobilitysite Reviews, Windows Vista, Windows XP
Not long after I purchased my first desktop home computer the very first computer peripheral purchase I made for my home setup was a Logitech® Cordless iTouch keyboard and mouse. I loved that keyboard. It served my needs for many years until I decided to upgrade to one of Logitech’s newer keyboard/mouse combos. I have owned three Logitech wireless keyboards and four Logitech wireless mice over the years. They have all been solid devices and continue to function to this day! Tech-envy is the only reason I ditched one Logitech keyboard/mouse for another.
I was offered a Logitech® VX Nano Cordless Laser Mouse for notebooks and I jumped at the chance to review it. Admittedly I entered this review a little biased but, why wouldn’t I? From my personal experience, Logitech has a track record of producing solid peripheral devices. Did Logitech produce yet another winner with the VX Nano? Let’s find out…..continue the review here
