Plantronics Voyager 855 Stereo Bluetooth Headset New Plantronics Voyager 855 is First Two-in-One Stereo Bluetooth Headset With Exclusive AudioIQ Technology for Crystal Clear Wireless Sound

Santa Cruz, CA (September 10, 2007) - Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT) unveiled today the new Voyager 855, the Industry’s first mono-to-stereo convertible Bluetooth® headset with AudioIQ® DSP  noise reduction technology for MP3 Bluetooth enabled mobile phones.

The new Plantronics VoyagerT 855 headset offers a convertible design and immersive sound experience for calls as well as listening to music on Bluetooth enabled mobile phones with stereo A2DP. The lightest stereo headset available to date, the new Voyager 855 includes intelligent headset features that offer unparalleled audio clarity.

Tailored Wear for Mono or Stereo Sound
Customizable for either mono or stereo use, the Plantronics Voyager 855 features a detachable stereo cable so consumers can tailor the wearing style to their communication and entertainment preferences.  With specially designed, form-fitting earbuds, the Voyager 855 fits snugly and securely to seal out unwanted background distractions.

The Voyager 855’s sound-isolating earbuds and convertible cable offer crystal clear wireless stereo sound when listening to digital music, as well as complete binaural immersion in conversations. When attached, the stereo cable also enables wireless AVRCP remote control capabilities. Plantronics’ stereo multipoint technology alerts users to incoming calls and allows easy switching between conversations and music.

Drop the second earbud or detach the cable and the headset serves as a high-quality mono Bluetooth device.

“The Voyager 855 headset’s stereo cable and fitted earbuds essentially replace that ‘finger in the ear’ that we all use to help block out distracting background commotion,” said Renee Niemi, general manager and vice president of Mobile and Entertainment for Plantronics, Inc.

“Consumers constantly maneuver in and out of noisy, busy surroundings while trying to conduct calls, listen to voicemail or enjoy a song,” added Niemi. “Whether you’re using your phone from a coffeehouse or the back of a cab, you want to hear and be heard clearly and intelligibly and still be able to use both hands. Plantronics delivers on that promise with a headset that adapts to your surroundings and improves audio and call clarity.”

Slide-to-Talk Boom Extended Microphone
The Plantronics Voyager 855 Bluetooth headset features a sleek slide-to-talk boom to provide convenient call control and improved audio performance. Sliding the boom open instantly connects the caller. The extending boom also houses a voice tube to position the microphone closer to the mouth for directional voice reception, ensuring maximum voice clarity and intelligibility. When the boom slides back, the call ends and/or the user’s music selection conveniently resumes play.

Plantronics AudioIQ® - Noise Reduction and Two-Way Call Clarity
The Voyager 855 features Plantronics’ award-winning AudioIQ technology - an exclusive, adaptive digital signal processing (DSP) technology that automatically reduces background noise and intelligently adjusts audio levels to increase clarity on both ends of a conversation.

Battery enabled talk time on the Plantronics Voyager 855 headset is approximately seven hours; listening time approximately six; up to 160 hours stand-by time. And at only 15 grams - the Voyager 855 is the lightest and smallest stereo Bluetooth headset available.
