Callpod introduces the Dragon V2
Posted by Jack Cook on 11/21/08 in Wifi / Bluetooth
As I was looking around for bluetooth solution today I saw that Callpod has introduced the Dragon V2 (DV2) headset. It looks very interesting and I thought I would share it with you. Not only is it for your device, but it can be used with VOIP products.
The DV2 gives users the powerful combination of unparalleled range and superior sound quality. The original Dragon Bluetooth headset and Phoenix, a Bluetooth mobile conferencing system were both 2008 Innovation Award Honorees. In addition, Callpod created the Chargepod, a well-received 6-in-1 portable gadget charging solution.
The Dragon V2 is currently available for $99 and is compatible with all Bluetooth-enabled handsets. For more information, visit CallPod here: www.callpod.com.

I am always looking for a better Bluetooth solution for my car and here is a cool looking hands free speakerphone that caught my eye today.
Besides its good looks, I was impressed with the location of the controls, the LCD screen and most importantly the pivoting arm, which can be positioned for optimum voice pick-up. The unit does feature Caller ID.

Smart Move Bluetooth Headset Makers! Smooth…
Posted by Chris Leckness on 07/17/08 in Fuzesite, Headsets
If you live in one of the states that recently passed a law where you could no longer talk on your phone while driving unless you are hands free, the smart thing to do is just obey the law. Right? Well, if you aren’t going to do the “smart thing”, you can grab a discount after you are caught and decide maybe you should do the “smart thing”. A couple headset makers are offering discounts to those of you that don’t do the “smart thing”.
Here are some deals you can take advantage of if you have a ticket for this…
- You can grab a Jawbone headset for $20 off if you get a ticket.
- Headsets.com has 734 Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth headset units to spare for the first applicants who have been busted for talking while driving without using a car kit or handset.
- Jawbone is running the similar promotion, offering $20 discount to those that broke the law.
These companies are really creative to think about taking advantage of the unfortunate by luring them in with a discount. They are already going to reap huge rewards with those laws being passed anyhow.

One of the biggest issues we always here about are those folks that just cannot connect their device via bluetooth to their PC or laptop. Well you are not the only one and “fyiguy” from BostonPocketPC has experienced the issue too. It really was not a major issue for him since he generally syncs mostly over the air with Exchange but Steve was was recently trying to use SideShow to setup for the Boston Pocket PC meeting and it wouldn’t work so he tried a few “work arounds” and finally got it to work.
This is a MUST READ and definitely an item to BOOKMARK for later reference.

Tritton AX Visor Universal Bluetooth car kit

Product: Tritton AX Visor Universal Bluetooth car kit
Manufacturer: Tritton Technologies, Inc
Price: MSRP $119.99 (significant discounts can be found on the web)
The devices we choose to use in our everyday mobile life are generally pretty cool and for the most part satisfy our needs but it is the “peripheral” devices that enhance the enjoyment of the device. One such “peripheral” that is fast becoming mandatory for all of us to have is a Bluetooth hands free car kit . Most states today already have mandatory laws on using cell phones while driving and each month, another state joins those ranks. I would expect that soon we will see all states will have some sort of law on the books regarding the use of cell phones while driving.
In April, TRITTON Technologies announced the arrival of their AX Visor Universal Bluetooth car kit. It is a state-of-the-art speaker phone with caller ID display and had both unidirectional and omnidirectional microphones making communication while on the road seamless. I liked the device and posted a news item referencing its characteristics.
Shortly after that news item, a representative from Tritton called and referenced several of the previous reviews I had done and asked if I would be interested in getting a review unit to look at. I indicated that I was interested and within a few days the AX Visor was at my door waiting for me to experience its capabilities.

Freedom Bluetooth Keyboard
Posted by Offbeatmammal on 05/27/08 in Fuzesite, Keyboard, Pocket PC Phones, PocketPC, Smart Phones, UMPC, Wifi / Bluetooth
About a year ago there were a couple of posts talking about the Freedom folding keyboards (one Bluetooth and one USB).
While the USB one seems to have come and gone the bluetooth option is alive and kicking. This is good news as other alternatives (such as the iGo Stowaway) have been discontinued so it’s good to see at least one option out there for folks who need a better experience.
While I’m happy enough to knock out a quick email reply on my smartphone it’s not easy to be as productive as I’d like when I’m away from the office. That however was nowhere near as frustrating as trying to type on the split keyboard on my Samsung Q1U which I’ve not been able to get comfortable using.
So I finally ordered a Freedom Universal Bluetooth keyboard to try it out for myself.
MoGo Mouse at the Indianapolis 500

This is probably my most used accessory and one of the best Bluetooth devices I have had. It stays “docked” inside the PCMCIA slot of my laptop and I keep one in the Express Slot of my Sony Vaio Media Center PC to use with my tablet and Sony UX. It is a must have accessory if you travel and want to stay “light” on what you have to carry!
